Celebrating a decade of True Floridian Realty

True Floridian Realty celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. For this inaugural entry, we asked, “What does being in business for 10 years mean to Noelle K. McIntyre?” This is her story.

True Floridian Realty associates celebrate their 10th anniversary.

I remember telling myself that if I could make it through the first two years of business, I would be 80% more likely to survive and thrive after that. I didn’t realize that not only could I thrive, I would also find a way to help lift other organizations, too.

My first two years of business were the most difficult.

The first challenge came in the form of overhead costs, branding challenges and other traditional growing pains. From 2011 until 2012, these complications were accompanied by ever-evolving competition from nationally recognized brokerages with shinier technologies and seemingly endless support. And, launching a real estate company in the most significant depression since the 1920s didn’t help.

It was stressful, to say the least.

But my dad’s words ran through my mind, “You’ve gotta crawl before you walk.” And that’s what I did.

Once I made it past the two-year mark, I paused—but only for a second! I was proud of that milestone. I appreciated the lessons I had learned as a small business owner, some the hard way, and then I continued to learn and work through what felt like forever-growing pains.

Around the end of my third year, I began to catch my breath. This helped me evaluate and even reevaluate my business. I believed in my grassroots upbringing, and I loved what we were doing.

We were already ingrained in community-building as a company, supporting our community’s helpers by volunteering at soup kitchens, beach clean-ups, organizing toy and food drives, and contributing to local animal rescue organizations.

But I believed we could do more. So we did.

We began donating a portion of every transaction we closed to the “real” community helpers out there. You might know them as heroes, animal rescuers, food shelters, and other local do-gooders.

So … to actually answer the question … being in business for 10 years means taking a moment to stop and recognize the impact we’ve had on our community. We’ve helped not only individuals, families, businesses and others find homes and sell properties—we’ve also helped countless organizations and contributed significantly to bettering our community.

I’m a giver. And so is True Floridian Realty.

And I’m very proud of that, and I look forward to continuing to build our legacy here in South Florida and beyond.
